ERASMUS+STUDY MOBILITY

  • It is carried out within the scope of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education and the international agreements of the higher education institution.
  • Students, who enrolled in higher education institutions as a part of formal education, can participate in student mobility in higher education. Students, who study in the open university and similar programs (distance education) cannot benefit from the activity.
  • The activity is the actualization of a part of the education of the student, who is enrolled in a higher education institution, in another higher education institution abroad, which is partnered with an international agreement.
  • First-grade students of the associate degree programs, undergraduate programs, and graduated students cannot benefit from the study mobility activity.

PERIODS IN STUDY MOBILITY

  • Minimum and Maximum Periods for a Single Activity are carried out in accordance with the minimum and maximum periods determined by the European Commission.
  • The minimum period for mobility for studies is full 3 months and the maximum period is full 12 months. -The minimum period for mobility for traineeship is full 2 months, and the maximum period is full 12 months.
  • The activity period should be carried out uninterrupted. Semester breaks and official holidays cannot be considered as an interruption in mobility for studies.

LIMIT OF THE TOTAL ACTIVITY PERIOD

  • The student mobility period of a student in the same learning cycle (undergraduate, graduate, Ph.D.), if applicable the student mobility period made in the period of Lifelong Learning Program and the student mobility period in Erasmus+ period, cannot exceed 12 months in total. The total period of student mobility activities made in the same learning cycle, even though a grant was not given, should be planned as not to exceed 12 months.
  • When the student completes his/her education in the current learning cycle and continues to a new learning cycle (completing undergraduate education and starting to graduate education), it is possible to carry out a new mobility up to 12 months at most at the new learning cycle. Therefore, the same person can carry out mobility up to 36 months at most, for being up to 12 months at most at every learning cycle.
  • A part of this mobility can be for studies and a part of it can be for traineeship. However, if this is the case, the minimum limits of this mobility should be recognized.
  • In the subject areas, where two cycles are combined and two cycles are completed in one stage (such as Medicine Education), the total activity period is 24 months.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Students should meet the following minimum requirements to participate in the activity.

  • The student should be a full-time student at any of the formal education cycles (first, second or third cycles) and enrolled in a higher education program within a higher education institution.

b-) Cumulative academic grade point average of second and third-grade students should be at least 2.50/4.00.

  • a-) Cumulative academic grade point average of first-grade students should be at least 2.20/2.00
  • For the mobility for studies: Having sufficient number of ECTS credit
  • 4- If s/he benefited from activities at the present learning cycle, the total period should not exceed 12 months.

Evaluation criteria and weighted points are as such:

Academic success level: 50%
Language level: 50% (Over a total of 100 points)
For disabled students (provided that disability is documented) + 10 points
Prior participation (with or without grant): -10 point
Participating in mobility in the country of citizenship: -10 point

TRANSCRIPT

  • The transcript of the student should meet the minimum requirements at the application.
  • In the determination of the grade point average, the latest transcript of the student is used.
  • Using the current transcript issued by the higher education institution of the student (where the elections are made) is the rule. The students, who apply in their first semester at the higher education institution at the graduate or Ph.D. cycle, when their transcript at that institution has not been prepared yet,  can use the graduation grade they received in the prior higher education cycle.
  • Similarly, grade point averages (received from prior higher education institution) of the students, who are transferred from other higher education institutions through internal transfer or external transfer and do not have a transcript in that higher education institution that will provide a selection data, are taken into consideration.

*Academic accreditation, original codes and names of the courses which have been taken at the host institution are going to be reflected on the students’ transcript of records.

The countries where student mobility activities can be carried out are divided into 3 groups, and monthly study and traineeship grants are determined for country groups. Country groups and monthly grant amounts that will be given to the students going to those countries are taken place in the following table:
